For my entire life, I have been obsessed with character design. As a small child I remember accompanying my mother to the supermarket so that I could stare at all the cereal mascots, retail displays, fun lettering on packaging and look at all product characters. I would design concept characters for the cast of made up cartoon series and fake products, now they are just real products I design for.

Ethical Approach:

I aim to bring responsibility to my practice as children connect really well with mascots. I am always looking to work with clients that provide healthy alternatives for both us and our world. Throughout time some mascots have been problematic, especially to Black & Brown folk. I always keep a sensitive mind to advise my clients, sometimes it can be so subtle historically especially as a POC creative.

Here is a selection of character and brand mascot designs I've done for various clients. Some may have a similar style, it's just what I get hired for a lot, but I love switching it up to fit the needs of my client and their audience.

Consultation: I also consult brands looking to create a new mascot or refresh/redesign their current brand mascots. I study brand mascot history not only from a designer's perspective but the level of success and legacy, audience connection, and increase in brand awareness they have brought to the brands they speak for. I have built a Brand Mascot Reference Library, a modern day to vintage collection of brand mascot usage through company merchandise and promotional releases.
